The forest is really amazing. We've got a lot of tall oak trees back in Northern Virginia, but the red woods here put them to shame, both in terms of height and age. There are a lot larger red woods in other parts of California, but it's really amazing that a forest of trees this old would exist so close to a city the size of SF. It's not really possible to capture the true size of these trees on film while inside the forest.
